Leading a Mission that Changes Lives.

Janyce Hursey- President

For Janyce Hursey, serving as Board President of an organization supporting Summerville’s local nonprofits is a natural extension of her 15 years of community involvement and deep love for the area. She leads an organization committed to strategically raising funds for local nonprofits, empowering them to create lasting positive change in the community she cherishes.

Robin Price- Vice President

Robin Price is a Jersey Girl who relocated to the Low Country 2 years ago and hit the ground running. She brings decades of experience in Retail/Wholesale and Store Design to the shop and has been a positive influence to the organization. She currently serves as Vice-President and hopes to be able to continue to volunteer with this dynamic Board for many years to come.

Cathy Elkins- Treasurer

Cathy Elkins, originally from Atlanta, moved to South Carolina in 2021 after spending 30 years in Dallas, Texas. She began volunteering at Second Chance after meeting Board President Jan Hursey on a cruise. With a corporate background in Accounting and Financial Management, she currently serves as the Board Treasurer and loves volunteering at the Front Desk every Friday morning.

Judi Balding – Member-at- Large

I’m a former educator who moved to Summerville in 2014. I joined Second Chance about eight years ago and have loved being part of this amazing organization ever since. It’s a joy to work alongside such dedicated volunteers and to see the happiness and support we’re able to bring to our community through our work.

A Second Life for Goods.
A Second Chance for People.

At Second Chance, every donation matters. Every customer matters. Every volunteer matters. Together, we’re building a stronger, more compassionate Summerville—one second chance at a time.
