Qualifications and Requirements


​Funding awarded by Second Chance Thrift Shop may be used for operating expenses and organization programs. 

  • Community Support Awards will be distributed annually in the fall.

  • Applications will be accepted June 1-July 31, 2024

  • Inaugural applicants, if successful, are limited to a maximum of $2,500.

Funding may NOT be use for salaries, ticket subsidies , or fundraising events. 


Each applying organization must meet the following requirements:

  • Organization must by a registered 501(c)(3) for at least one year.

  • The stated mission must align with the mission of Second Chance Thrift Shop.

  • Organization programs must serve the greater Summerville area.

  • The following documentation must be submitted as part of the application process:

IRS Letter

Current Board Member list

Revenue and Expense Statement for prior completed fiscal year

Balance sheet for prior completed fiscal year

Current Year to date Revenue and Expense Statement

Current Year Budget

Current Year to date Balance Sheet

All applicants must utilize our automated form.  Handwritten applications will NOT be accepted.
