QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS 

▪ Funding awarded by Second Chance Thrift Shop may be used for operating expenses

   and organization programs and projects.

▪ Community Support Awards are distributed annually in the fall.
▪ Applications will be accepted June 1-July 31, 2025.

▪ Inaugural applicants, if successful, are limited to a maximum of $2,500.

Funding may NOT be used for salaries, ticket subsidies, or fundraising events. 

Requirements

Each applying organization must meet the following requirements:

▪ Organization must be a registered 501(c)(3) for at least one year.

▪ The stated mission must align with the mission of Second Chance Thrift Shop:

  To support those most in need in the Summerville community.

▪ Organization programs must serve the greater Summerville area.

▪ Detailed description of how funding will be used, for programs or operating                 expenses, is required. We want to know how potential awards will be used to make     a difference in your organization and our community.

▪ If funding was received in 2024 a detailed description of how the funding was used      and what impact the funding had on your organization and those that you serve. 

▪ The following documentation must be submitted as part of the application process:

       IRS Letter

       Current Board Member list

       Revenue and Expense Statement for prior completed fiscal year

       Balance sheet for prior completed fiscal year

       Current Year to date Revenue and Expense Statement

       Current Year Budget

       Current Year to date Balance Sheet

All applicants must utilize our automated form.  Handwritten applications will NOT be accepted.
